Collected and written by Brig. Gen. Hanut Singh, PVSM, MVC, the book was originally published on the occasion of Shivabalayogiâs 46th birthday on January 24, 1981 and reprinted in 1989.
Spiritual Ministration includes a detailed account of Shivabalayogiâs childhood and his twelve-year tapas - meditation in samadhi (enlightenment) - which remains the main source of information about the great yogiâs tapas. The book also contains short descriptions of Shivabalayogiâs first travels to Bangalore and Dehradun, four disciples initiated by Shivabalayogi into tapas, and an outline of The Yoga Vasistha, the one scripture that Shivabalayogi recommended.
Spiritual Ministration also contains detailed descriptions of Shivabalayogiâs use of bhava samadhi and of the practice of dhyana meditation.
